Kickstarted the business transformation for the Data Engineering organization by developing the blueprint for DE Machine Learning (ML) domain experts at Facebook, outlining roles and responsibilities to advance the competency across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. This blueprint was the foundation for launching a cross-pillar initiative to establish best practices, develop technologies and talent within the organization.
Envisioned and led the execution of the first Data Engineering ML domain summit, showcasing projects and technologies across the AI infrastructure and data engineering product teams. The event had 30 presenters across all Facebook products and hundreds of attendees.
Architected and developed the data infrastructure for Facebook News products, enabling the understanding of the global news ecosystem, data analytics, and content ranking. Developed predictive models for news content level signals that enabled the launch of product improvements. Championed the understanding and evaluation of algorithmical fairness of ML models in news, integrating labels and model performance metrics for monitoring and mitigation.
