The goal of my mentorship project was to integrate Hyperledger Ursa, a cryptography library, into Hyperledger Iroha, a distributed ledger/blockchain framework. I added support for Ursa-implemented ed25519 signatures to Iroha, which can be enabled at compile time. My contributions were all open source, and I experienced what it's like to use a remote, GitHub based workflow. I was able to publish a post detailing my experiences to the Hyperledger blog (linked below), and was invited to attend Hyperledger's annual Global Forum conference to showcase my work.

I initially led software development for an interactive biology animation written from scratch in the p5.js JavaScript library, and then later began work on the Open Educational Resources initiative. Under OER, I built WordPress sites for professors, and modified plugins in PHP as needed for our purposes. I also designed and implemented a relational database schema in Microsoft Access and SQL Server for internal use.

As a TPM, I lead a 12-week long cybersecurity bootcamp with course material provided by CodePath, in partnership with Facebook. The course met in-person for 3 hours per week, where I would guide students through Capture The Flag challenges and lab problems. Prior to leading the course, I participated in an accelerated 6-week long cybersecurity training program. Aside from guiding students, I also communicated closely with members of Facebook's security team to help organize events.
