• Performed research on probes with the molecular rotor motif that bind to amyloid-β (Aβ), a misfolded protein that is the pathological biomarker of Alzheimer’s Disease that precedes clinical symptoms by as many as twenty years.

• Took part in the synthesis and development of 9 new probes, each based on a previously reported probe developed at the Yang Lab called Aryl Cyano Amide (ARCAM).

• Published a paper in ACS Chemical Neuroscience on how the introduction of aliphatic substituents of different lengths affects fluorescence enhancement and emission wavelength when bound to Aβ.
