I have worked on all aspects of Google's networking infrastructure across numerous generations. I defined and started multiple projects to address needs in the internal ecosystem. All of them are still functional.

I was a Technical Manager with Tech Lead responsibility for 2.5 years during 2012-2014 where I managed a team of 13 SWEs

• Platforms Networking (2014-2015) (Staff Engineer)

• Projects: Cloud traffic isolation, next-gen network modeling and next-gen campus interconnects.

• Networking Software (2012-2014) (Tech Lead Manager)

• Lead team that built storage infrastructure for network topology modeling.

• Designed and led the team that built the system used to evaluate the impact of changes to Google's production network. The system evaluates the risk of _not_ meeting fine grained SLOs for individual applications.

• Network Infrastructure (2008-2012) (Staff Engineer)

• Designed and built a system to collect and analyze TBs of NetFlow data from all of Google's production routers.

• Networking Infrastructure (2007-2008) (Senior Engineer)

• Built a system to collect, analyze and visualize routing updates (BGP & ISIS) from all of Google's routers.

• Designed and built a Routing stack with BGP and ISIS that is still in use (2015).

• Platforms Networking/Cluster Fabrics (2005-2007): (Senior Engineer)

• Wrote and integrated software for cluster fabrics: interface management, link aggregation, neighbor discovery, adjacency management, fault isolation etc. See http://conferences.sigcomm.org/sigcomm/2015/pdf/papers/p183.pdf

• Lead the platform software group, interface with hardware, architecture, protocol groups.

• Added new features to the Xebeo hardware and software platform: VPNs, IPv6, L2 Bridging

• Ported the software to new hardware platforms and operating environments

• Xebeo built a very high density IPv4/MPLS switch scalable to 3 Terabits.

• Contributed key elements of the hardware forwarding architecture.

• Lead the platform software group in defining the software architecture and implemented most of the the packet processing and forwarding logic.

• Lead the system integration effort that delivered a functioning system 3 weeks after hardware availability.

• As an early employee had a hand in making many of the technology and people decisions.

Defined and built the forwarding and trans-coding elements of a system to adapt a GSM mobile switching system to operate over an all IP transport and control network.
