As an infantryman, I specialized in small unit tactics and close combat. I was required to maintain expert levels of proficiency with multiple weapon systems, hand-to-hand combat, as well as high levels of physical fitness.

I was cross-trained in combat-oriented medicine, anti-armor specialization, and as a combat translator. As a translator, I was required to maintain fluency in the Pashto language.

As a team leader, I was responsible for the training, instruction, and leadership of three subordinate soldiers. I led them in physical training, tactical theory, and live-fire exercises.
