Develop concepts, user studies, create analytic reports based on user findings, design development, mechanical design, prototyping, DFM, DFA, DFMEA’s and functional analysis. Part of the role includes managing data flow, document control and profitability on projects. Liaise with clients, manufacturers and vendors, mentor colleagues and engage in continual training.
• Projects include high volume consumer products, medical devices and “blue sky” ideas.
• Created targeted training sessions to improve surfacing skill within the ID department across 3 sites worldwide, which resulted in an increase in the quality and speed of deliverables.
• Set up an effective data management procedure, which resulted in a better and more efficient work flow, information sharing and more rapid knowledge of what is being released.
• Achieved a merging in a robust mass-manufacturing design that worked from both engineering and industrial designers’ intent.
• Identified remedies for problems with a manufactured product that were easily implemented post -production, resulting in a robust and improved quality product on the market.
• Delivered a solution for a drug delivery medical device for client within budget, by using a full understanding of the deliverables in relation to cost/timelines.
• Sourced a vendor to replace legacy software. Successfully negotiated the cost and implemented migration, resulting in a increase in efficiency among staff, and improved process control for data management.
• Devised a Human Factors Study to look at drug delivery for Health Care Professionals and created the report which was used for part of the HFS and was submitted to the FDA.
• Owned leadership for the management of new software.
