Currently focused on site reliability (SRE), edge resiliency, and pre-production integration testing. Some time ago, I also built the data model for our resiliency analytics used to describe Shopify production reliability.

Formed and grew two data engineering teams (from 8 to 26 reports) for data reliability, compute, query, and orchestration systems for Shopify's evolving petabyte-scale data platform.

Created a data reliability practice from scratch and helped evolve Shopify's data transformation platform in the cloud atop Hadoop infrastructure running PySpark. A lot of Python and some Scala.

Built payment gateway integrations to ship the first version of Shopify Payments, point-of-sale hardware integrations and payments hardware for Shopify Retail POS, and many of the early Shopify transactions APIs that enabled them. A lot of Ruby, Rails, some Objective-C and Swift, and a flavourful touch of C.

Development and team lead in functional verification test and test automation team. Developed an enterprise test deployment and management system with continuous integration, test automation and deployment middleware. Coordination of test execution for web-based interfaces (Selenium and similar tools.)
