Influencing the team and developing our tactics, strategies & technologies around using remote client integrity to defend the platform against spam and abuse. With this new strategy we've been able to use immutable signals that were deployed in older versions of the application to identify and fight off even the latest iterations of spam and abuse campaigns on the platform. These techniques and signals have been used very successfully against bulk account creation campaigns as well as account-hijacking related abuse.

During most of my time at Google, I was the Tech Lead of a team that developed a widely used anti-abuse system running on over 3 billion Android devices (it was also available externally as the SafetyNet Attestation API) that protects users & Android-facing services from botnets, malware, spammers and other malicious forms of scaled abuse. Besides developing many of the signals used by the system to detect abuse (which involved considerable independent research and data-analysis), I also led many of the design efforts that had kept the system performant and maintainable despite serving traffic that had grown by many orders of magnitude.

Developed Impermium's spam fighting and account fraud detecting systems.

I worked on developing new signals and features to catch emergent spam campaigns, and also built an automated training pipeline for the supervised machine learning system.

Worked on developing the C++ based core application framework for the firm's next-generation equity trading systems. I'd designed and built the transaction processing framework's resilience, robustness and crash recovery mechanisms.

I was also a member of the firm's India Technology Council leadership team.

Developed fast C++ based protocol parsers and HTTP/VoIP replay applications running on telecom/enterprise grade network monitoring probes.

I also designed and developed a new framework to analyze and filter network traffic regardless of the levels of tunneling, which allowed the rest of the software to provide visibility into previously inaccessible flows.

Tools and documentation that I'd developed for the team's internal-only use were evaluated and shipped as-is to our most sophisticated clients.
