Developed a multi-tenant web service using Node, React, and Express. The application will service millions of requests on a daily basis to users across all of Viacom's brands and regions.
Assisted in developing flexible front end components that can adapt to any Viacom brand. These components carefully adhered to JavaScript and React best practices to ensure code base stability and maintainability.
Worked on the back end using DataPoint (open source) to handle all of the service's data requests. Ensured that any code change was backed by extensive unit testing to maintain almost 95% code coverage.
Assured that all international sites were properly localized, and all designs and changes were considerate of localization.
Worked on developing build automation tools to implement smoother deployments.
In initial results, time spent per visit increased by 13%, and video views per visit increased by 22%.
Reduced maintenance costs by consolidating existing code bases into one as well as reducing the number of hosting providers.
