As a backend engineer on the Developer Foundations team, I worked on the core platforms and shared services that support engineering teams across the company. My role focused on building reliable clould-native Golang backend infrastructure that enables consistent service development, improves system stability, and increases overall developer productivity.
I contributed to the design and maintenance of foundational backend services used across multiple product groups, ensuring they could scale efficiently while maintaining high availability and strong performance characteristics. This included developing internal APIs, service frameworks, and common libraries that standardized authentication, request processing, configuration management, and service-to-service communication.
A significant part of my work involved improving system resilience and operational maturity. I helped implement fault-tolerant architectures, automated recovery mechanisms, and observability standards that enhanced monitoring, alerting, and incident response. These efforts reduced operational overhead and improved system transparency across production environments.
I collaborated closely with infrastructure, platform, and security teams to align backend services with company-wide engineering standards. Through design reviews and architectural discussions, I contributed to long-term platform decisions focused on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
In addition to hands-on development, I provided technical mentorship through code reviews and design guidance, supporting the growth of junior and mid-level engineers. My work helped accelerate service delivery, reduce duplication across teams, and establish a stronger foundation for building and operating backend systems at scale.

As a Senior Software Engineer, I led the design of scalable backend services powering a direct-to-consumer investing platform and an embedded B2B wealth-tech SDK. Working closely with cross-functional teams, I built secure, high-performance financial APIs primarily in Golang and Python, while also leveraging TypeScript to develop internal tools and service interfaces that improved operational workflows and developer efficiency. These systems supported commission-free trading for over 2,000 U.S. equities and ETFs, helping the platform scale to thousands of active users while maintaining strict data integrity within a FINRA/SIPC-regulated environment.
I played a key role in architecting containerized microservices using Golang on Kubernetes, backed by relational databases including PostgreSQL and SQL Server. This foundation enabled rapid deployments, seamless CI/CD integration, and efficient scaling across FinTron’s cloud infrastructure. As part of a broader modernization effort, I helped migrate legacy monoliths to modular services—reducing deployment times by 70% and significantly improving resilience under high trading volumes.
Beyond backend development, I partnered with product and compliance teams to deliver core brokerage capabilities such as automated deposits, fractional share management, trade settlement, and customer onboarding (KYC/AML). Using Python alongside secure integrations with Apex Clearing APIs, I contributed to the launch of FinTron’s SDK, allowing third-party fintechs to embed investing directly into their applications. I also built internal TypeScript-based tools and documentation that streamlined customer operations, including secure asset transfers via ACH.

Scaling Real-Time Distributed Systems Responsible for the design and implementation of high-throughput, low-latency services that power the core platform. I focus on optimizing distributed systems capable of handling millions of concurrent requests and massive spikes in traffic during global events. This involves refining microservices architecture to ensure 99.9% uptime and sub-second delivery of data across the global timeline.
Core Infrastructure & Backend Engineering I contribute to the evolution of the platform’s backend infrastructure, primarily utilizing Scala, Java, and C#. My work includes managing large-scale data pipelines and caching layers to minimize database load. I play a key role in the migration and maintenance of services within a hybrid-cloud environment, ensuring that the system remains resilient and cost-effective as it scales.
Performance Optimization & Reliability I actively monitor system health and performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks in the stack and implementing algorithmic optimizations to improve efficiency. I work closely with SRE teams to conduct rigorous load testing and disaster recovery drills. By automating deployment pipelines and enhancing observability tools, I help reduce the "Mean Time to Recovery" (MTTR) for critical production incidents.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Working within an Agile/Scrum framework, I collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Frontend Engineers to ship feature updates—such as improved recommendation algorithms or enhanced safety tools—without compromising platform stability. I also participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers to maintain high standards for code quality and documentation.

High-Performance Systems & Scalability I am responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical systems that power the Bloomberg Terminal. My work focuses on building high-throughput, low-latency back-end services capable of processing millions of data points per second. I architect scalable distributed systems using C++ and Python, ensuring 99.99% uptime for global financial applications that professional investors rely on for real-time decision-making.
Infrastructure & Full-Stack Innovation Beyond core feature development, I contribute to the evolution of Bloomberg’s technical infrastructure. This includes optimizing database queries for massive datasets and implementing microservices that enhance system modularity. I collaborate closely with Product Managers and UI/UX designers to translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, high-performance software solutions, utilizing JavaScript/TypeScript or internal frameworks for seamless front-end integration.
Collaborative Engineering Excellence Operating within an Agile environment, I participate in rigorous code reviews and cross-team architectural discussions to maintain the highest standards of code quality. I play an active role in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initial requirement gathering to automated testing and deployment. Additionally, I contribute to Bloomberg’s robust engineering culture by mentoring junior engineers and participating in internal technical guilds focused on systems stability and performance tuning.
