Worked on the Starlink Ground Network Reliability team:

• Solved network software challenges to support the scaling of satellite internet infrastructure for over 2M global consumers spanning 6 continents.

• Supported external teams, including the Government Satellite program and Optical Gateway team, in collecting telemetry data from network devices.

• Enhanced on-call operations by creating alerts, testing systems, and developing playbooks. Improved documentation and onboarding materials for streamlined knowledge transfer.

• Mentored and shared expertise in Kubernetes, Python, and PromQL with team as Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Worked on the Starlink Ground Network Software team building pipelines and solving network software challenges to support the scaling of satellite internet infrastructure for over two million global consumers.

• Designed and implemented a mission-critical Ground Telemetry Service deployed across 27 countries, supporting over 500 network devices. Utilized Kubernetes for container orchestration, ensuring efficient deployment and scaling.

• Enhanced analysis capabilities of the Ground Telemetry Service by integrating Kafka, Prometheus and Mimir. Facilitated company-wide access to crucial metrics, reducing dependency on singular investigation points across teams. Empowered individual teams to define and monitor their own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Enhanced security and ensured data integrity by deploying mTLS (mutual Transport Layer Security) for secure communication and leveraging certificates to authenticate trusted entities.

• Proactively developed high performance dashboards and optimized resources to mitigate risk of CPU throttling.

Continued working as a Software Engineer on the Ground Station team of a Satellite R&D program. Simulated satellite networks to quantify risks and opportunities primarily for the gateway team, occasionally supporting other teams including mission management and satellite production. Also worked closely with the Starlink team to implement creative solutions towards optimizing overlapping company interests in terms of software development.

Worked as a Software Engineer on the ground station team of a satellite R&D program based in SpaceX HQ. My responsibilities included simulating satellite network constellations, performing analyses, and generating insights that helped critical decision making strategies. Additionally, automated the process of network simulations using Flask to reduce manual efforts and support sim scalability. Additionally , was soon trusted with more responsibilities including collaborating with the satellite production team.
