After a decade in the software engineering realm, both within the private sector and academics, I've learned that the "software" part of our field reveals only a small part of the story. I've spearheaded projects that were soundly designed and implemented, but the final product never saw the light of day.

Created a Microsoft Access database using SQL queries to track renewable energy systems for the Colorado Department of Energy, using the Bing Maps API to geocode the locations.
