Developing streaming tech on the Data Platform team.

Worked on a data warehouse for developer metrics. We took data from numerous sources and built a cohesive database for easy analysis of data, including privacy sensitive data. Frequently work with researchers and data scientist to make meaningful insights on our developer metrics to apply large scale change across the company. Work involves building ETL pipelines using Java.

Additionally worked as a team lead for a project within the Payments org which simulated external vendors for sandbox testing. Increased velocity for feature engineers by maintaining a high-fidelity, sandbox environment which can be used for local testing. Simulated vendor APIs via a Java server and owned a UI for creating sandbox credit cards and bank accounts using TS/Angular. Owned the planning and design of new features and mentored/delegated work to junior and mid-level engineers.

Ensured GDPR compliance for the Google Photos product. Maintained extremely large Java pipelines to ensure consistent data deletion and consulted with feature engineers to ensure new functionality met Google and regulatory bodies data retention and policy best practices/requirements.

Worked in the Computer Vision research org. Maintained C++ pipelines for ingesting and annotating images. Collaborated with researchers doing Deep Learning to ingest data required for modeling and built infrastructure required to evaluate and test experimental models. Additionally owned a UI for viewing model results and image annotations using Javascript/Polymer.
