• Ground up design of a positive pressure, pneumatic validation tool, utilizing Design Reviews, DOE, and Rapid Prototyping to iteratively develop inflation plenums and incorporate constructive feedback, ultimately implementing a test method that cut final QC by 3 hours per unit.
• Developed, manufactured, and iterated assembly tooling to aid in assembly of small scale electronics utilizing Designing For Manufacturing (DFM).
• Simulated silicone inflation utilizing CFD and FEA to analyze deflection and stresses observed from device to skin interaction for haptic feedback.
• Designed a 5-axes test stage to evaluate normal forces on a complex surface by sizing motors, minimizing system deflection, and selecting materials.
• Ran failure and stress analyses on snap fit features, utilizing Keyence microscopes and Ansys, ultimately leading to improved manufacturing processes and increasing snap fit engagement.
• Manufactured prototypes, tested computer vision, and finalized a functional ergonomic PCB enclosure without complex assembly.
• Produced a DOE and P-Matrix to determine rework adhesives and gage tools for overmolded PCBs to be used at a Contract Manufacturer (CM).
