Apple is most well-known for their devices; the WW Ops division at Apple coordinates the manufacturing infrastructure that undergirds the production of these devices.
• Developed a bespoke full-stack internal tool to coordinate the production of released and unreleased flagship Apple products, from prototype-stage to mass-production, using Typescript-React and Java Spring.
• Improved Hibernate performance to solve the N+1 problem, given the complex, highly-relational nature of the data. Also implemented a frontend cache using React-Query for a snappy UI, decreasing loading state times dramatically.
• Built complex UI components from scratch using React, CSS, and styled-components, only reaching for “low-level” (headless) libraries when considering WAI-ARIA compliance concerns.
• Set standards for best practices, leading the effort on progressive refactoring to decrease tech debt, employing new tools to increase developer velocity, and creating a more readable and maintainable codebase.
