At Cisco, I was responsible for designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Java, as well as making successful service calls on the front end using React. I optimized the efficiency of quote processing and enabled multiple microservices to take advantage of parallel processing, which led to winning a department-wide award.

I also developed front-end features using React TypeScript, automating error correction on quotes and reducing manual changes. In addition, I built a new full-stack component for quote changes, streamlining the approval process and improving overall efficiency.

I was a member of the automotive team at Garmin responsible for the advisor function of a GPS system embedded in vehicle hardware. My contributions included working with embedded C++ to enhance the system's functionality, which included features such as providing turn-by-turn directions, displaying highway signage, and notifying drivers when to change lanes. In addition to coding, I helped to improve the quality of the system by fixing bugs, assisting with testing and documentation, and addressing tickets related to code improvements. Through my work, I helped ensure that the GPS system was reliable and provided accurate guidance to drivers.

As a grader for an introductory Java course, I provided valuable feedback to students on their coding assignments and exams, encouraging their growth and development. Utilizing my strong technical skills and communication abilities, I also offered personalized support to students during weekly office hours, reinforcing key course concepts and addressing any challenges or difficulties with assignments. My dedication to student success helped to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment, and contributed to the overall success of the course.

As a teaching assistant for an introductory Java undergraduate course, I employed a variety of resources to make exam review sessions engaging and interactive for up to 20 students. I incorporated group activities, interactive quizzes, and other materials to encourage active learning and promote participation.
