Dept: Alexa AI, Natural Understanding

• Designed and developed features for tools for NLU feature authoring, intake, and release

• Tools were used by language engineers, translators, and other engineers to author, review, and release deterministic NLU models, including FST (Finite State Transducer) grammars

• These features are used to analyze end user utterances to decide which specific action Alexa will take

• Full stack design and development on a React UI with Python APIs, and a Rails UI with Javascript APIs

• Used AWS to develop and deploy infrastructure

• Served oncall rotation, debugging and mitigating user issues, responding to emergent issues

• Met with users to review wireframes, gather feedback and suggestions, and plan feature releases

Dept: EBS Outposts - Snapshots

• Systematically improved project deployment health, unblocking pipelines that had prevented code from being deployed to production for as many as eight months.

• Implemented production-ready java code for AWS EBS Outposts team, and expanded testing infrastructure

• Served oncall rotation, responding to alarms, mitigating customer-affecting events, presenting in ops reviews

• Contributed to onboarding wikis/guides and mentored new hires on the team

• Wrote functionality to train machine learning models, predict on customer data, and generate incident reports for a fleet of customer assets

• Mediated discussions between front end engineers and data scientists to make decisions on displaying ML data to customers in an understandable and intuitive way

• Architected and built a solution to bring our machine learning infrastructure to the cloud using kubernetes

• Regularly met face to face with customers to gather feedback for ML-generated incidents, incident quality, and UI design

• Created schemas, types, and queries in graphql to manage assets and models
