Developed a framework to perform strength optimization of lightweight periodic lattice structures in Matlab. Tasks involved:

• implementation of a simulation tool to predict stability using the finite element method.

• derivation and implementation of an efficient optimization algorithm based on adjoint sensitivity analysis.

• extensive numerical simulation and optimization studies.

• writing a scientific paper that was published in CMAME.
