Largest role was as Tech Lead of the main middle-tier server in Google's search serving system. I also had shorter roles on Google Assistant and Google Maps. I managed teams, in addition to providing technical leadership and writing code.
2005-2015: Search Infrastructure / Platforms.
• Tech lead for the main middle-tier server in Google's search stack (from 2007 on). Designed infrastructure and process to support contributions from thousands of Search engineers, and several major expansions of scope (e.g. universal search, structured data, question-answering). Continuously improved reliability and release frequency. Had direct management responsibility for a 16-engineer team, and grew 2 managers under me.
2016: Google Assistant.
• Improved stability and latency in the months leading up to the Assistant's initial launch; helped several groups work together during a challenging period.
2017-8: Google Maps.
• Improved modularity of the Android Maps app.
