For my first project, I used R to conduct the analysis of four samples of single cell RNA sequencing data from mouse retina cells. This analysis included principal component analysis and t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding with the goal of identifying clusters of cell types. Using marker genes for these clusters, I was able to identify known target cell types.
For my second project, I analyzed the genetic data from sixteen human brains on R; eight of the brains were those of Alzheimer's patients. The goal of this project was to to determine the magnitude of cell type communication and compare the results of healthy brains to the diagnosed brains by examining the expression of known ligand-receptor pairs.
