Expanded scope to work on Cloud IDE, Cloud CLI, and an upcoming product.

Returning to an IC role on the team I managed for a year. I gained a lot of skills, perspective, and scope managing. Excited to leverage that in an IC position to make an impact on our Cloud IDE product.

Engineering manager for two teams working on dbt Cloud IDE. Had 6-8 direct reports throughout my year managing. Filled the role of product manager for the teams until we hired that position.

Both teams work on the same cloud IDE product, one with a backend / service emphasis and the other focused on frontend and developer experience.

I focused on operational excellence, team safety, and shaping and executing initiatives. Met with executives to work on high-level strategy, while also diving into the code with ICs and serving in the on-call rotation for the product.

In terms of tech stack, worked primarily with Kubernetes, Django / Python, React / TypeScript.

• Built a data-intensive application using React, Redux, webpack, and D3

• Enhanced the code review process and engineering culture by demonstrating direct, humble, and kind communication

• Design and implement experiments in collaboration with product owners and design to discover what to build

• Instrument code with analytics and logging to monitor product usage and application stability

• Perform data analysis using Postgres SQL, Python, and Pandas to answer questions from product managers

• Collaborate with a data scientist to perform exploratory analysis and productionize statistical models

• Helped define, implement, gather, and visualize North Star metrics to measure product success

• Leverage AWS cloud services such as S3, SQS, and CloudWatch to complete features and debug issues
