Served as technical lead for the picoCTF cybersecurity education program, expanding from one-off yearly competitions to a persistent learning platform with over 800k registered users.

• Designed a new Django-based backend to support the program’s increased scale.

• Introduced development practices such as unit testing, containerization, and CI.

• Developed backend services and command line applications for managing per-user containerized CTF challenges in Rust.

• Transitioned the project to an infrastructure-as-code deployment model using Terraform, GitHub Actions, and 1Password service accounts.
