I was a member of the platform team, where I built infrastructure for managing and scaling the back-end services that power 500px. We worked with Rails and Go applications, using Chef for configuration management, and various AWS services. My biggest achievement was rebuilding 500px's metrics pipeline infrastructure, moving configuration management into Chef. This allowed the metrics system to scale with increased load, be resilient to system failure, as well as providing better access permission management for the system.

• Designed and delivered an elastically scalable distributed logging and monitoring system for requests made to partner APIs

• Sole developer responsible for AWS cluster over the majority of the internship

• Automated deployment of AWS infrastructure by creating Ansible scripts and Terraform configurations. Previously, all configuration was done by hand.

• Added real-time error reporting and metric collection to application in order to monitor payment

capture errors

• Served on Product Committee; created specifications for tasks, scheduled their execution, then monitored and managed their progress over a one month period
