Built and consulted on various client projects, teaching clients software best practices via pair programming and TDD. Projects include:

• Data usage alerting tool for major U.S. telecoms company. Built a distributed proof of concept to enable alerting users when they pass daily, weekly or monthly account usage thresholds. Designed and implemented ledger system to keep track of usage values, able to process 25k messages per second. Golang / Kotlin / Kafka / ksqlDB / MongoDB

• Credit card installments project for NYC financial firm. Served as team lead for app that managed installment payments on a new credit card offering for over 70K users. Created framework for making incremental progress on system health / SRE goals. Identified risks to team’s success and delivery of final outcomes, worked with client stakeholder to strategize solutions. Java / Spring Boot / MongoDB / Kafka

• Document & task versioning system for U.S. Space Force. Served as engineering lead, expanded legacy app for document & sub-task versioning and management. Identified growing technical debt, advocated for refactor to product and broader portfolio teams. Led data model redesign, mentored client developers on how to structure data model changes with zero downtime. Kotlin / Spring Boot / GraphQL / React

• System hardening project for cryptocurrency company. Added audit capabilities for admins managing the burning and minting of coin on the blockchain. Rust / Python / React

• CI/CD pipeline transition project for Spring Security team. Ported over complex pipeline from Concourse to Github Actions. Built custom tooling to keep track of and publish job-level failure reports to Slack.

• Custom trainings to address knowledge gaps. Created and gave custom trainings - these included a contract testing presentation, a 12 Factor training taught via ‘doomsday’ scenarios and an XP values & practices workshop.

• Designed and built out a Rails microservice backend for referrals experiments. Generated client A/B test allocations via a data science-owned service and shared data with consumers of API. Extra focus on resiliency, including a Redis caching layer and fallback logic paths to ensure maximum response speed and up time.

• Worked on a task force team whose goal was to get engineering off of the shared database. Improved observability into connection usage on a per-application basis. Paired with platform engineers to port

individualized, per-app PgBouncer instances to global PgBouncer instance that managed database connection pooling for all apps in ecosystem.

• Collaborated with software architect to design Golang microservice for managing distributed transactions across the broader application ecosystem.

• Served as project lead and technical lead on a project critical to UK launch. Added new shipping options for UK clients and changed how client shipping data and carrier preferences were managed. Coordinated with three other engineering teams as well as UX, Product, and Strategy.

• Extracted front end component written with plain HTML / CSS / JavaScript from legacy Rails app into NPM module written in React. Added full test coverage using Enzyme and Jest. Learned React for this

project and brought rest of team up to speed.

• Managed summer intern and served as technical mentor. Taught test driven development via pair programming. Helped deepen her skills in git, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails. Supported her in successfully delivering a stylist hiring microapp that cut need for manual engineering work.

• Founded and led engineering reading group to strengthen organizational culture of learning and create a shared knowledge base.
