Android in the DMs

Built the Quill Android app from scratch, by myself. Implemented business logic in a Kotlin Multiplatform library but not integrated on other platforms due to bugs/limitations in KMP. I did some backend (Golang) work too. Quill was acquired by Twitter.

Three month contract to help get Envoy Mobile released. Full-stack Android dev, coordinating with backend GraphQL engineers and iOS engineers. Added tests and mock mode where there were none before.

Built mobile apps to help people book short term hotel/apartment stays (by the minute!). I was the first engineering hire and took over ownership of the iOS app (in Swift) from the technical cofounder. I then built the Android app from scratch (in Kotlin). I also worked on the APIs in our Go backend, using Google AppEngine + Cloud Datastore. Super small engineering team (never more than three), so I jumped around pretty frequently.

I worked on the oven software, in particular:

• the setup flow

• exchanging wifi credentials using the Apple WAC protocol (I wrote some JNI/C code for this)

• widgets used across the rest of the oven UI
