Teaching assistant in the School of Computer Science for an introductory course that used Java. The topics included abstraction, mutable data structures, inheritance, polymorphism, testing and debugging. I held weekly office hours to explain concepts to people and help students understand assignment questions.

Implemented REST and GraphQL APIs to improve the collection of email marketing consent data at Shopify.

Used technologies like Rails, GraphQL, Sorbet (type checking) and MySQL using Domain Driven Development and Test Driven Development practices.

Part of a large multi-disciplinary team with a focus on cyber security🔒and backend development.

Worked on the Enterprise Identity product to secure critical endpoints. Fixed several vulnerabilities that could have lead to username enumeration or cross-site scripting as well as denial-of-service attacks. Reduced technical debt by refactoring existing code to modern JavaScript using ES6+ features. Improved an internal testing tool by implementing a persistent storage solution for various configurations options created by the different teams using the testing tool.
