Led design and strategy for Facebook Events and Discovery on the Local app, transforming how people find and engage with things to do. Drove key product shifts from static event entities to a content-first discovery model, while spearheading the integration of evergreen local content. Partnered across product, eng, and research to unify two products—Events and Local—into a scalable, shared discovery experience.
• Drove a shift from utility-based event browsing to visual-forward, content-centric discovery, increasing shareability and creator distribution.
• Unified two marketplace surfaces (Events + Local) into one app experience, merging a mature product with a nascent one to support both evergreen and time-based discovery.
• Led a cross-functional push for interoperability and cross-surface reach, expanding event exposure across the Facebook ecosystem and external partners (Whatsapp, Instagram, Messenger).
• Influenced product direction through research-backed strategic pivots, resulting in long-term investment in local discovery and deeper org alignment.

Why it mattered to me:
This role was my first full-time introduction into the consumer space, solving for the same event discovery needs, but at a global scale. Infusing human-centered curation and human tone into a recommendations tool that scales to meet company & user needs well beyond my time at Eventbrite.

I helped document global patterns and elements with design on UX principles, global personas, Ticketfly's rebrand effort, global navigation interface plan and Ticketfly's illustration style guide. I established protocol for documenting design choices for product for easy handoff or understanding of reasoning across multiple departments. I worked collaboratively with many companies including Pandora and Lyte. Launched Ticketfly's transfers feature on web, mobile web, and iOS.
