Continuing to build cool things at Instabase!

I believe in enabling my team to move fast and feel empowered to make technical, product, and design decisions. Frontend engineers at Instabase start contributing to our codebase from week 1 and as early team members, they help shape the UI and direction of our product.

I am managing a team of frontend engineers who are responsible for:

• Collaborating with other engineers, product designers, and product managers to drive new features and applications from ideation to implementation to production

• Using a React and Typescript stack to develop the user interfaces of applications, the core platform, and reusable components

• Evaluating new frontend libraries and technologies to fit our needs, and iterating on and maintaining Instabase's frontend stack

The Platform Experience team is responsible for the operating system and frontend ecosystem on top of which our apps work.

First engineer of the platform experience team. In these early days, I spent my time:

• Thinking about the metaphors we use to describe Instabase and how we can translate those into our customers' user experience, and implementing overarching changes to our interface to clarify them

• Making it easier for other front-end engineers to quickly and safely write apps (integrating typing and linting tools, building reusable components and utils, and introducing new React ecosystem tools)

• Refactoring existing Instabase apps from jQuery to modern React, and improving them as I went

• Jumping in to help wherever I was needed, whether that was branding, public relations, recruiting, or sales
