As a software developer at Nielsen, my primary responsibility was to provide support to our Custom and Data Production departments. I worked closely with all levels of staff to collect input and analyze processes for the purpose of developing automated solutions to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
- Optimized multi-step quintile building process by developing C# WinForms desktop application that increased productivity by 75%.
- Revitalized legacy ‘EZ’ mainframe programs by converting them to C# (‘EZ’ is a programming language, similar to Fortran, that was developed to be used in-house).
- Communicated effectively with all levels of staff to help resolve data production issues, including root cause analysis which often required the debugging and editing of Java programs and .bat files.
- Applied structure to file tracking system by creating detailed Excel spreadsheets designed to map data pipeline, significantly reducing the resources required to troubleshoot issues.
- SQL Server experience running unit tests, implementing join queries, procedures and triggers.
- Provided thorough end-user application training, maintenance and support.
Typical weekly work-load broke down to approximately 50% back-end programming in C# and VB.Net, 30% troubleshooting data pipeline related issues, and 20% front-end development in Visual Studio IDE.

In my role as a computer programmer at Scarborough Research, I developed and maintained GUIs with VB6, VB.NET and C# within Visual Studio IDE used to automate the processing of consumer survey data for various media outlets such as newspaper, TV, and radio. These GUIs were designed to prompt the user for information that was then passed as parameters to several Java programs and .bat files to produce data files.
Additional achievements:
- Developed COBOL programs to clean and align consumer survey data.
- Manufactured data files and reports by pulling and merging data from a variety of different sources including ASCII files, .CSV files, relational databases and Excel spreadsheets.
- Generate ad-hoc reports in MS Access to validate consistency of data.
- Manually analyzed raw data against the expected output and relayed any inconsistencies to the appropriate personnel.

• Fulfill drawing requests in the copy room (A, B, C, D and E size drawings).
• File various sized drawings and documents.
• Maintain accurate log of drawing revision history.
• Filled in at the front desk (answering/transferring calls and taking messages).
• Handle conference room bookings.
• Dispensing of petty cash funds.
