* Research infra - founded and led cross-site infrastructure team to scale up internal research across Google products and OSS offerings(2017-)

* U.S. elections on websearch - made candidate quotes on the issues launch on time; led expansion of Google's political candidate coverage to (vastly more distributed and messier) local election level. (2015-2016)

* speech recognition infra - promoted to Staff level for doubling team velocity through making a multi-homed, multi-hour, 50+ variant model-building pipeline fast and reliable (2013-2015) .

* senior contributor in ground-up rebuild of low-latency crawling/indexing of time-sensitive content, e.g. news sites (2012)

* overhaul of Google's internal 'available jobs' database and UI - TL (2011)

* design and implementation of asynchronous secure application-level messaging, which eventually became Cloud Pubsub (2010)

Promoted to Senior Developer, led 5 releases of full-stack NYC educational data website, both teacher-facing (60k) and parent-facing (2M). Helped earn the company a contractually-mandated bonus for delivering early.

Sole developer, writing custom pipelines for CG special-effects production; general fixer of last resort. Radio City Music Hall Christmas show, Kanye West music video, various commercials.

Designed, built, supported pipeline for two motion-capture-based CG movies, supporting 70 artists in NYC and Hyderabad, India. Oversaw 1 other engineer.

Wrote Pixar's first pipeline to include cloth and hair simulation (Monsters Inc).

Also came back post-2001 over 3 breaks while in graduate school - including emergency work doing water simulation in Finding Nemo, and adding smart pointers to 80+ C++ classes (for The Incredibles).
