As a Principal Engineer in the Consumer organization, I define and drive technical strategy across the full consumer purchase journey — event discovery, ticket reservation, payment, and distribution — working with engineering teams across Spain, the United States, and India.
My role is an equal mix of technical leadership and hands-on engineering. On the leadership side I set direction, align stakeholders, mentor engineers, and shape long-term architecture. On the hands-on side I contribute directly to design and code — reviewing PRs, prototyping solutions, and jumping into the codebase when it matters — because I think that closeness to the work makes all the difference.
Key achievement: I led a complex, high-stakes migration — moving the system powering Eventbrite's primary revenue stream out of a tightly coupled monolith into a serverless, distributed architecture. This initiative had no clear ownership boundaries to start with, spanned multiple teams, and required simplifying the system significantly along the way. The result: a more scalable and resilient purchase flow, reduced accounting discrepancies, and a meaningful increase in engineering velocity for future changes.
Beyond delivery, I actively invest in the growth of other engineers and technical leaders, promote a culture of technical excellence, and foster collaboration across organizational boundaries.
