Designed and implemented systems to address Discord application performance. Conceptualized and implemented automated smoke tests, implemented performance monitoring strategies, verified audio/visual (AV) stack, and developed visualizer for real time AV metrics. Acted as staff engineer, identifying and pursuing issues to full resolution across divisions.
• Researched and led development on hook-free game overlay which dramatically increased performance and compatibility, using an indepth knowledge of Windows API.
• Accelerated development and identified numerous existing bugs by converting large portion of existing codebase to TypeScript.
• Enabled earlier detection of crashes and performance regressions by creating and logging actionable metrics throughout the software stack.
• Played key role in Discord’s 2024 efforts by conceptualizing and authoring monitoring system to gather user performance data.
