• I'm a member of the Wayfair Search and Recommendations Platform & Services team, which enables Wayfair customers to discover the furniture and decor items they desire.

• Created a graph execution SDK and service template to streamline the migration of a monolithic recommendation service to a decoupled tiered-microservice architecture, allowing over 8 atomic teams to autonomously deploy their individual Spring Boot services.

• Additionally, implemented features in the SDK to empower service owners to track metrics such as time taken for graph execution, errors, and publish scribe logs to Google Big Query (GBQ) tables for analytics and future ML model training.

• Within the service template, I standardized the configuration of CI/CD pipelines and Wayfair ecosystem-required setup features. This initiative resulted in time savings and expediting the availability of new services.

• Led the development of a new tax engine system for computing taxes on Wayfair orders across North America and Europe. This system delivered a substantial 30% improvement in the accuracy of order tax calculations and resulted in a monthly reduction of approximately one million dollars in audit tax exposure for customer orders.

• I led a team of five engineers dedicated to building systems for Wayfair's evolving financial challenges. My responsibilities included collaborating with cross-functional teams, shaping project requirements and roadmaps, and providing mentorship to team members.

• Implemented a full stack React/PHP vendor platform tool at Wayfair, featuring a backend vendor API to streamline financial operations for vendors, including payment processing, tax form generation, and payment reconciliation. This tool significantly reduced the onboarding time for new vendor types and their operations from over 10+ days to just 1-2 days.

• Designed and developed an event-streaming platform using Apache Kafka, resulting in substantial improvements in processing large financial batch files, reducing wait times by several hours, and cutting down the engineering efforts required to support new finance file types from 5+ days to 2 days.

• Designed & developed full-stack applications and pipeline batch-processing jobs using Jenkins for finance needs working extensively large and complex SQL finance databases.

• Created and implemented a web-based solution to enhance the management and cost optimization of AWS resources, including EC2 servers and key pairs, for team members.
