I was selected to be one of thirty Pinterest Engage Scholars to complete a 6-week program dedicated to gaining technical and behavioral skills for a future career in software engineering. During this program I attended many workshops, including Interview Preparation and an Inclusion & Diversity Panel. I also completed coding projects that were evaluated by a current Pinterest Software Engineer.

Worked in a Biomedical Engineering lab at the University of Florida for two months. This lab induced osteoarthritis in rat knees to evaluate its effects on different components of the joint, more specifically the synovium and cartilage. For my project, I improved the histological process for evaluating the damage caused by osteoarthritis by designing, 3D modeling, and 3D printing a device for more precise paraffin embedding. I then tested different decalcification methods and optimized the staining protocol to improve the quality of the microscope slides.
