Lorem Labs operates a distributed onsite/offshore model, optimized for intellectual velocity focusing on AI & blockchain systems, deep software architecture where off-the-shelf answers don’t exist.

We don’t just write code; we help founders launch, scale, and culture-set. We invest time and capital selectively at the intersection of AI, crypto + distributed tech startups, contribute to open-source ecosystems, and help early teams mature into real engines. We're also about to launch our own blockchain: Espra.com, a super-performant L1 harnessed by a common economic protocol to make the world a better place.

My history in decentralization runs long: in 2000 I collaborated with the late Gene Kan to push Gnutella (predecessor to BitTorrent) forward and evangelize p2p frameworks when most people still squinted at the concept. Years later, Satoshi Nakamoto cited Gnutella as an influence for Bitcoin, so I worked through the proto-chapter of a revolution that is yet to completely unfold.

Via my Lorem Labs, long-term engineering partner to Coinbase, supplying elite blockchain, distributed-systems, and AI/ML talent at senior depth across core infrastructure and emerging products. Our model prioritizes capability over headcount, giving Coinbase frontier-grade engineers who can invent, not just execute.

Many of our alumni have since gone on to extraordinary outcomes in the Web3 space, founding protocols, scaling major projects, and becoming successful fund managers and investors in the ecosystem. Attendees included founders of Multicoin, Solana, 1KX, etc.

After a decades-long hiatus while we "grew up", Grain is now alive again—writing, rehearsing, building toward a 2nd act with more intention, *less* skill, and no pressure beyond authenticity. We’re actively working toward a Coachella 2027 side-band appearance—not as nostalgia, but as unfinished business. Rock on !
