Formed Stack Overflow’s Data Team in 2014, which assumed responsibility for the ML and related processes in the company. Appointed Team Lead in 2015.

Instituted processes so non-engineering teams at the company could leverage Data Team expertise and tooling for insights relevant to their domains. Data Team Requests eventually became an example use case for the Stack Overflow for Teams product.

Helped bring ML techniques into Stack Overflow with projects like customizing the homepage surface unanswered questions to users more able to answer them.

Built infrastructure and algorithms — internally known as Providence — to enable our Jobs platform better target job listings. This encompassed building a custom ETL pipeline to process the large amount of data Stack Overflow properties gather each day, and new APIs to allow other development teams to consume results in a performant manner.

Evolved Stack Overflow’s public API through several versions, including deprecating and managing the shutdown of the 1.x line.

Built backend services for the Stack Overflow & Stack Exchange mobile apps, including HTTP APIs to compliment the public API, notification push services, and personalized feed algorithms.
