I work on Uber's Routing Engine team, where we're responsible for calculating efficient routes and ETAs across all stages of Uber's trip lifecycle—from rider and driver pricing to efficient matching and driver navigation.
Some specific roles I've played while here:
• Identified a source of ETA inaccuracies in the matching and driver navigation process for Uber's core ride business and designed an innovative routing solution spanning multiple high-QPS services to fix this. Led a cross-functional team of 3–5 engineers, data scientists and important stakeholders through implementation, experimentation, and production launch, achieving a global X% reduction in ETA inaccuracies for forward dispatch trips and $XXM in additional bookings through reduced rider cancellations
• Mentored 5 junior engineers by creating scope for them in our vision roadmap, guiding them through
implementation, design and production launch, while prioritizing the development of their engineering
processes to ensure long term career success.
• Represented my team in org-wide incident reviews while also being the top contributor in our internal routing channels—providing support and answering routing-related questions for key technical and non-technical stakeholders across the company.
• Leveraged deep expertise in the Routing tech stack, spanning multiple, million QPS services, to develop vision docs that shaped future product roadmaps and led to concrete projects that provided growth opportunities for junior engineers.
