As part of a concept development team, my role includes both R&D and product development. Our goal is to design, test and build new products that utilize Intel computing platforms to provide unique user experiences and usages of new technology. Each project starts from an idea within the team, and is developed through stages of brainstorming, prototyping, testing and demonstrations. For each project, this effort grows as my team partners with business groups to support the project and mature it to become a consumer product.
As the team lead for the ICEX (International Computer Engineering Experience) 2013 team, my work in field robotics used a VideoRay Pro III remotely operated vehicle to map underwater cisterns. This role included travel to cistern sites in Malta and Sicily to deploy this underwater robotic platform and collect sensor data and integrate sensor hardware. Using this data, I also analyzed sonar scan data to develop mapping algorithms to visualize sonar measurements and work towards automated map generation.
Designed and developed a touch display system with multiple active displays and projection. Testing and modifying tracking and gesture recognition algorithms for the system’s natural user interface.
