As a web designer for IBM's TechU technical events team, I was responsible for designing and building event websites, registration portals, and other digital experiences.
My key responsibilities included:
• Collaborating with event producers and managers to understand goals and requirements for each event's digital presence.
• Creating wireframes, mocks, and prototypes for event sites and pages using design tools like Figma and Adobe XD.
• Building responsive, mobile-friendly event sites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Integrating with backend platforms like WordPress and Drupal.
• Ensuring all web deliverables met IBM’s brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Designing promotional web content, email templates, digital ads and social media graphics.
• Optimizing web conversion funnels by A/B testing calls-to-action, page layouts, etc.
• Analyzing web analytics and generating reports to share performance insights.
• Mentoring entry-level designers on web best practices and IBM’s digital style guide.
• Keeping up-to-date on web design trends, techniques, and technologies.
During my tenure, I successfully delivered digital experiences for over 20 IBM technical events, including Think and several TechU virtual summits. I consistently received positive feedback for my creative ideas, technical skills, and commitment to event marketing goals. My work helped generate over 30,000 event registrations.
