Client: FinTech Startup - Customer Rewards Gamification

• Developed the reward functionality across multiple backend systems, which involves immediately granting customers a “game” that can be played for cash or gift cards upon purchase. Solution uses a GraphQL gateway backed by multiple Spring Boot applications in an event-driven microservice architecture in AWS EKS.

• Designed and implemented a facade pattern to simplify underlying subsystem support for third-party payment integrations, ensured idempotency across microservices, and Ensured action idempotency across Amazon SQS microservices

• Reduced database interaction time 50% by addressing N+1 querying issues in critical path systems

• Created data visualization using Python in Databricks to tune the rules and payout of the rewards game.

• Designed and developed a labor forecasting application to manage client’s labor expenses across multiple dimensions such as location, associate/contractor ratio, division, and cross-division teams.
