Ionic merged with OutSystems in the beginning of 2024. In this role I continued to serve as the engineering lead on Ionic Framework.

• Hired and led a team of 6 to develop Ionic Framework, an open source toolkit for building high performance mobile apps with web technology

• Reduced the number of regressions shipped by over 60% over the course of 2 years by creating and building out testing infrastructure with Playwright. This also led to a >65% decrease in test execution time on CI

• Increased the release frequency by 8x through the implementation of engineering and review processes

• Paired with team members to reduce the issue backlog by over 500 issues

• Shipped high impact accessibility features including increased contrast themes and font scaling for users with low vision

• Collaborated with members of the Chromium, Gecko, and WebKit teams to isolate and develop minimal reproductions to resolve browser bugs that impact millions of users

• Resolved top voted bugs including right-to-left layout, accessibility, and Android hardware back button issues

• Lead development on a performant date and time picker component that supported robust localization features

• Architected an animation system that enabled running animations at up to 120fps by leveraging hardware acceleration and minimizing CPU usage

• Helped lead development of Brain Builder, a SaaS platform for streamlining creation, deployment, analysis, and management of deep learning applications.

• Developed an Ionic/Angular application and a Node.js API. Throughout this process I also mentored junior developers, did code reviews, and created UI designs using Sketch.

• Designed a zero-downtime deployment pipeline using Jenkins, CodeDeploy, and EC2.

• Coordinated with product management to help define customer requirements, translate those into technical requirements, and then use those requirements to help plan sprints.
