In addition to the responsibilities I held as an individual contributor, my responsibilities as lead product designer included:

• Managing the design team and mentoring team members

• Growing the design team through hiring and internships

• Identifying the right interaction patterns, existing UI, and React components, and guiding other designers to do the same

• Collaborating with engineering leadership to balance trade-offs in speed, complexity, and bandwidth

• Running key meetings, including design crits, project kickoffs, and retrospectives

• Leading user testing and usability research, and delivering actionable insights

• Measuring the success of design projects based on metrics I defined, like usage and MRR

• Understanding our customers and their challenges, and designing detailed solutions that solve those problems

• Designing, building, and testing wireframes and interactive prototypes, emphasizing quick delivery for customer feedback

• Delivering and receiving design feedback on prototypes, wireframes, and specifications

• Writing detailed specifications for the engineering team and collaborating closely with our developers during the building process

• Translating business requirements into user stories, personas, and project goals

• Managing attentive and creative communication with our customers via email, chat, phone, screenshare, or webcast to answer questions, solve problems, and encourage engagement with our software

• Sharing the voice of the customer! I doggedly advocate for them within the company

• Demonstrating the value of our product; I show people how awesome it is and how it helps them meet their business objectives

• Enriching our self-service support library with help articles and training videos

• Troubleshooting and performing quality assurance, identifying bugs and other problems within Nutshell
