(2011-2013) Developed internal Bloomberg applications used to support database
engineering. Focused heavily on building the infrastructure for large data collection and
aggregation of database time-series metrics. Developed an intuitive and powerful UI to
present the data to application developers. Primary languages included C/C++/JavaScript
with shell/Perl scripting taking a secondary role. Proprietary familiarity with C++ service
frameworks providing the business logic layer between data storage (proprietary RDBMS
with SQL APIs) and user interface control.
(2013-2015) Application developer within Systems Infrastructure, building tools for
collection and analysis of application services data. Heavy focus on OOP in C++ with
secondary emphasis on JavaScript and Python. Helped integrate open source software
within Bloomberg to provide a centralized log indexing and searching system, with the
data pipeline consisting of Logstash, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Kibana. Familiarity with
Ruby, nodejs, and HTTP RESTful APIs.
