Graduated in 3 years with University Honors

After participating in Cisco High School Externship the summer of 2017, I returned to Cisco in 2018 to be part of the team organizing and executing the same Externship program for 20 rising seniors in Greater Atlanta area.

My responsibilities included:

• Interviewing potential candidates

• Leading a workshop on data visualization and presentation techniques (Tableau, Powerpoint)

• Updating Intern Coordinator Handbook for 2019

• Assigning and coordinating Job Shadow schedules for the externs and current Cisco employees

• Mentoring the externs during Capstone project, Innovation Challenge, and other presentation activities

• Organizing Cisco High STEM Day, which involved over 60 student participants

• Preparing a final presentation on successes and recommendations for the program

• Being the first point of contact for any day-to-day issues, particularly IT-related support

• Communicating with current Cisco employees around the nation learning about their roles in the company

Cisco High School Externship at LWR is an exciting 4-week program for 20 students from Greater Atlanta area. After having completed a rigorous selection process which involved writing essays, submitting a resume, and passing an interview, I got a chance to:

• Attend numerous workshops and lectures learning interpersonal, technical, presentation, and networking skills

• Gain experience of working in a multinational like Cisco, preparing me for future jobs and other positions

• Shadow Cisco employees ranging from sales specialists, to software engineers, to patent litigators

• Work on a Capstone Project, in which my team had to identify three problems of a manufacturing company, propose tech- and IoT-based solutions, present a demo, provide stakeholder and financial analysis, as well as create a five-year implementation plan

• And, overall, enjoy my summer in a great company of 19 other externs!
