I successfully led a zero-downtime migration of a multi-terabyte database from MongoDB to DocumentDB and Postgres, designed and implemented a flexible bonus program to support growth and retention, and spearheaded a seamless email service provider migration that simplified marketing workflows. I also serve as a thought leader in applying AI to development processes, helping shape the future of engineering efficiency and innovation.

As a senior engineer on the backend team, I built and maintained core systems that powered credit card products and loyalty program integrations in a highly regulated fintech environment. I designed and implemented a business-critical ledger process to handle daily settlement with partner banks, and developed a merchant geolocation solution to enable elevated rewards on qualified purchases. I also led the migration of scheduled workflows to Python/Airflow, improving system reliability and maintainability, while managing infrastructure accounts and coordinating with external vendors to ensure compliance and operational stability.

The backend supports 18 million monthly users on the web and app while the messaging program sends millions of individually personalized emails and push notifications to support products going on sale and related marketing efforts per month. In addition to day to day managerial responsibilities I help manage the relationship with external vendors and coordinate implementation of initiatives internally with other departments and development teams.

I also had engineering responsibilities as technical lead guiding the direction of the messaging platform, implementing core functionality, and providing top level support debugging of critical issues.

Worked as a senior developer on a comprehensive solution to remotely manage smart electrical meters and related infrastructure over the network. The implementation focused on high scalability and secure remote management of geographically dispersed smart meters connected via a high latency, low bandwidth secure IPv6 mesh networks.
One of my responsibilities was to work with development partners to implement and integrate functionality to manage both aggregating routers as well as the smart meters themselves.
In this role I worked in an office remote from the team based in San Jose.
