Led the migration of the Prior Authorization Automation product from a manual, VM-based
infrastructure to a Terraform-defined architecture hosted in Microsoft Azure, improving scalability and
reducing operational cost.
Refactored the Typescript Prior Authorization Automation product from a state-machine service to an
event-driven system, improving reliability and fault handling. The system is used to processes 10,000+
medical necessity and authorization status messages per day across 12 customers.
Implemented proactive metrics and monitoring with Azure Application Insights for the Prior
Authorization Automation product, enabling early warning of system performance degradation and
automation failures.
Designed and implemented a .NET8 feature integrating our EHR product with insurance payers,
clearinghouses, and delegated entities, enabling one-click direct submission of prior authorization
requests and attachment of clinical documentation. Used by healthcare staff to perform 6,500+
submissions per month, of which 80+% were automatically approved.
Extended the .NET8 integration feature to enable fully automated prior authorization submissions for
customer-selected procedure codes, eliminating manual staff effort and accelerating approvals. The
system is used to perform 1,400+ submissions per month, of which 80+% are automatically approved without human involvement.

Assisted in the planning and migration of all customer data from MongoDB to a PostgreSQL solution,
reducing hosting costs and improving query performance.
Designed and implemented core Typescript and PostgreSQL modules, adapting to evolving requirements,
enabling faster on-boarding of customers, and laying the foundation for product scaling.
Designed and refactored Typescript/PostgreSQL customer configuration system, reducing engineering
overhead.
Migrated Git repos and CI/CD pipelines from AWS CodeCommit and Jenkins to GitLab, saving
engineering time on build and deployment of code changes.
Created content of the team’s software engineer on-boarding training and the documentation of the
team’s code, products, and infrastructure.
Mentored a group of 3+ rotating junior engineers, accelerating their on-boarding and improving the
team’s code quality.

2020 — 2022
Built robotic process automations using Typescript, Javascript, and Puppeteer, which perform routine
hospital administrative tasks, reducing administrative workload for medical staff.
Completed the on-boarding, configuration, acceptance testing, and production deployment of new
customers and of expansions for existing customers.
Participated on the data structure governance committee to design and enforce consistent and reusable
data structures across multiple product teams.
Designed and implemented architecture which elevated the automation product from disjointed, file-
based data storage to connected, MongoDB-backed services, improving product performance and
metrics collection.

Tested mission-critical storage solutions using bash, Linux packages, and in-house data models.
Created and tested MongoDB data models, custom C++ libraries, and sample C++ code to meet customer
specifications for database features, throughput, and system resource use.
Researched and demonstrated the capabilities of OpenShift, Kubernetes, and cri-o to support the
migration of production applications to a distributed computing environment.
