• Led the epic to convert the Tough Talks AI chatbot into a mobile-responsive platform integrated with new labs infrastructure, implementing Dependency Injection lab adapter parameters, building new lab interaction operations, and creating seed data to support environment initialization

• Contributed to the team-wide effort to transition our Learning platform from our  legacy JS frontend infrastructure to a new Phlex rails architecture over the course of several months. This included re-writing the backend and frontend code for several pages and components across the platform using Phlex and StimulusJS

• Assisted in setting up analytics tracking throughout our platform using Segment and Amplitude

• Replaced  Helpshift, our customer service platform, in our code base and implemented Intercom SDK

• Extensive research and documentation on our antivirus scanner in AWS

• Served as a peer mentor and onboarding buddy for new engineers, accelerating team ramp-up through pair programming, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing on team systems and development workflows

Projects:

Community Access Platform (CAP) project

• Epic lead for developing the first iteration of CAP, a public interface where patients. This included becoming the subject matter expert for this project, developing the feature from start to finish, and constructing technical documentation through the discovery phase.

• Lead the effort to convert legacy rails-rendered screening pages to modern React pages and testing paradigms

• Provided support to onboard and create CAP instances for new clients

• Preformed several knowledge transfer sessions to new team members and internal stakeholders

Closed Loop Referrals feature

• Implemented the functionality in our API to automatically notify providers about patient referrals and made comprehensive documentation and testing plans around this feature

Additional accomplishments:

• Works simultaneously across two tech stacks: a Ruby on Rails, SQL, RESTful app and a Python, NoSQL, non-RESTful app.

• Participated in the company-wide Hackathon and created a Pitch Day presentation to potentially receive funding

• Gained knowledge in GraphQL & Amazon States Language by developing workflow engines for various clients

• Tackled a variety of bugs and feature improvements around ElasticSearch and indexing

• Currently working on improvements to our search results algorithm by handling geocoding failures

• Assisting with Epic completion surrounding patient privacy, which includes implementing complex logic to prevent PHI from being exposed and creating new React (with Redux) components to indicate privacy and consent settings

• Handles a variety of issues that come up across our technical stack during on-call hours

• Assists newer engineers by holding frequent pairing sessions for knowledge-sharing and problem-solving

• Proficient in AWS Amplify, DynamoDB, and AppSync

• Iterated on existing full-stack features in Ruby and Angular such as action mailer for sending patient search results, LaTeX PDF generation, and incorrect provider information reporting

• Refactored our codebase to introduce state management, new testing suites, and updated legacy code from existing repositories

• Participated in ticket refinement and estimation, peer code reviews, and retrospectives in a test-driven, agile environment

• Build email verification (for signup) and authentication (for login) system using JSON web tokens (JWTs)

• Research and design provider and facility data model with scale in mind and consider the many to many relationships between them and how the data model will be able to support provider search based on location

• Create a reusable form using Material UI to capture the provider’s basic information to MongoDB and images uploaded to Google Cloud
