In my first foray into design leadership, I led a team of 7 product designers with diverse skill levels—ranging from junior to senior—supporting mission-critical tools for AI-driven biomedical research.

Reporting directly to the Director of Product Design, I balanced coaching, hiring, and team rituals with driving product outcomes across multiple streams. Helped shape design vision and execution for BenchSci’s internal platforms, aligning scientific complexity with clarity and usability. Invested in team growth through structured feedback, mentorship, and design critiques, while partnering cross-functionally to ensure design was tightly integrated into agile product development.

Led design strategy to increase adoption of internal contract tools over external software.

Validated roadmap direction through mixed-method research and stakeholder workshops, including VP-level demos. Applied systems thinking within the Meta XDS design system, both leveraging and contributing to its complex component library.

Led design for a major platform unification, bringing Invest, Trade, and Cash into a single cohesive app experience. Partnered cross-functionally to solve complex IA and navigation challenges through research-led strategy and systems thinking. Delivered high-fidelity architecture, aligned UI/UX with product vision, and collaborated with engineering to ship, measure, and iterate quickly.
