• Served as the component lead for a user-facing software component, which required: scheduling feature requests; implementing & iterating on UX requirements; architecting scalable & maintainable system designs; troubleshooting issues on hardware and software; regression testing; and collaborating with engineering management, internal and external stakeholders, and 30+ other software components. During my tenure as component lead, I facilitated resolution of 70+ feature requests & bug reports, and customer configurations of my component’s features rose by 180%.
• Architected and developed safety-critical embedded C software for Garmin Integrated Flight Deck (GIFD) products, supporting over 120 customer programs with timely delivery of 18 FAA-certified software releases. Consistent support of these programs has earned Garmin 20 consecutive “best avionics provider” awards by Aviation International News.
• Designed and implemented software for the new G3000 Prime integrated flight deck from concept to launch, iterating on 7 intermediate delivery points and shipping two major, FAA-certified software deliveries. Meeting aggressive deadlines for our launch customer secured future contracts for avionics production which will total $10 million in yearly revenue for Garmin.
Verified software to DO-178B standards by writing system and software requirements, developing embedded C software, and developing module tests in C and integration tests in Python. Reviewed peers’ requirements, code, and tests.
Mentored two interns and one full-time hire, providing technical and professional guidance, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
