Total clinical care of people living with dementia (PWD). June Care partners with Medicare, Medicaid and Long Term Care Insurers to improve the lives of PWD and their families, while reducing total cost of care.
As a co-founder I worked on fundraising, payer reimbursement and commercialization strategy, and clinical model design.
Post-mortem: Commercialized vertical care for PWD will catch on in the near future, but likely alongside a suite of other vertical programs (like chronic kidney or heart disease) delivered under the roof of a single care system like CareMore, Iora, ChenMed or Oak Street Health. The highly-custom contracts that need to be struck with insurance plans to enable this type of care are burdensome and insurers prefer to maintain a few large contracts with population care providers instead of many, smaller contracts with condition-specific care providers.
